IoT Traffic Information Systems Integration
IoT or the Internet of Things is a nationwide low power network of devices utilizing LoRaWAN (LongRange Wide Area Networks) to convey basic information at low power consumption. We specialize in integrating and installing IoT devices that relays this information to DOT communications centers, PSAPS’s, EOC’s, traffic command centers and directly to motorists. This includes but is not limited to: changes in weather, road conditions, roadwork, speed limit changes, traffic accidents, disaster evacuation routing, traffic congestion & alternative routes.
GMRS Emergency Mobile Radio Communications
Disasters are getting worse – wildfires, flooding in NC, major hurricanes in FL. There is one common denominator, cellular networks have gone offline in many of these recent events. All off-road, vehicles in disaster prone & evacuation areas as wells as road service vehicles should be equipped with GMRS (General Mobile Radio Service) radios in addition to our 511 Traffic & 511 Disaster (Zello Channels). GMRS radios require an easy to obtain license issued by the FCC and can communicate direct car-to-car or through wide area mountaintop repeaters with up to 50 watts of power. 511 Network can help you get your FCC license and GMRS mobile or base radio equipment from trusted Midland Communications. These radios are great for communication with other motorists direct during emergencies & disasters on GMRS traveler & emergency simplex frequency “675” – 462.675 MHz / PL 141.3 (Channel 20 / Code 22). REACT, a volunteer radio emergency group, regularly monitors this channel in many areas. See the video below on how a California community plagued by wildfires uses GMRS to communicate when cellular is down.
