GMRS Emergency Communications
All off-road vehicles should be equipped with GMRS mobile radios in addition to our 511 Traffic Zello Channel. These radios require an easy to obtain license issued by the FCC and can communicate through repeaters with up to 50 watts of high power. 511 Network can help you get your FCC license and GMRS mobile or base radio equipment from trusted Midland Communications. These radios are great to communicate with other off-road drivers, RV’ers & motorists on frequency 462.675 MHz (PL 141.3) Simplex. See the video below on how a California community plagued by wildfires uses GMRS to communicate.
